Bowman Engineering & Consulting (BEC) provided onsite project scheduling coordination, construction inspection and field oversight for the IH-35W reconstruction project. The Interstate 35W improvement project spanned 10 miles in Fort Worth and included a section ranked as the state’s most congested roadway. The reconstruction reduced congestion by doubling capacity, including interim projects to reconstruct the existing lanes and add two managed toll lanes in each direction. The south section (3A) was $1.4 billion in program costs and was completed in 2017, and the north section (3B) was $244 million in program cost and was completed in 2018.
North Tarrant Express Highway Environmental Consultant
Bowman Engineering & Consulting (BEC) provided the design-build contractor with environmental oversight, documentation, and inspection for the North Tarrant Express Highway construction project. This 13.5-mile, $2.5 billion project rebuilt the IH 820 and SH 121/SH 183 (Airport Freeway) corridor in Northeast Tarrant County. These improvements enhanced the safety and reliability of this highway system while lessening environmental impacts resulting from traffic gridlock.
